People of GOD,
When the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church of Corinth, in this particular passage of Scripture, 2 Corinthians 2, we see that when you’re in God, He will keep us from Satan’s schemes and trying to take advantage of us (verse 11). When we keep our minds stayed on Him, Isaiah 26:3, from the Common English Bible, states, “those with sound thoughts you will keep in peace, in peace because they trust in you, verse 4 goes to say, “trust in the LORD forever, for the LORD is a rock of all ages.”
Furthermore, Apostle Paul writes to the Church in Ephesus, Ephesians 6:11 (KJV), “put on the whole armour of GOD, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil,” so if we are diligent in Christ, if we stay connected to “The True Vine,” we’ll be in the safest place that we could enter, that is safest amongst the Earth and The Spirit Realm.
How do we stay connected? We pray, fast, study His WORD, listen to Him speak, praise, and worship.
It’s interesting how Apostle Paul uses the analogy of GOD’s aroma, on us, who aren’t afraid to stand on GOD’s WORD, those of us who really believe that GOD is the only true and living GOD, who don’t play about trying to live as best we can, for His glory to be revealed in us. He likens it to a sweet aroma. This sweet aroma is one that attracts both the saved and the unsaved.
What am I saying? You attract light but the darkness can follow you if you so choose to deal with people that are headed towards a place we cannot send them, those that are perishing because they choose to perish. This means that we should protect the company that we keep.
We know that “bad company corrupts good character,” 1 Corinthians 15:33 (KJV). We know that GOD’s sweet aroma is one that is to be savored, honored and the very essence of Him causes LIGHT to enter dark places. We know that we are “Children of The Light,” 1 Thessalonians 5:5-11 (KJV), and “children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore, let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober. For they that sleep, sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night…”
So, we see that we ought to live a life that brings about the sweetness of GOD’s Aroma, all over our life so much so that our posture represents the fullness of The Holy Spirit that dwells in us. “Be not deceived, GOD is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap,” Galatians 6:7 (KJV).
If you’re on the fence, come off and choose Christ! People perish (are destroyed) because of lack of knowledge, Hosea 4:6 (KJV).
Don’t fall subject to the enemy’s schemes because you’re walking around smelling like a perishable fragrance.
Also, don’t be fooled by those who profess to know GOD but are perishing because they don’t truly believe, for their odor smells of “death” and destruction. Some people will never come unto Christ. Know when to walk away. Know when to bow out. You don’t want that odor fumigating your atmosphere, where The Lord resides, there is freedom, 2 Corinthians 3:17. Those who want to be free, have every opportunity given unto Man. Work on your Soul’s Salvation. Stay in the Aroma of GOD.
Let His fragrance perfume your space and illuminate your soul, heart, mind, and body. Beware of the enemy’s odor. The only way to steer clear of the enemy’s foul odor, his schemes, plots to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10) is to reside under the Shadow of The Almighty, Psalm 91:1.
Today’s Scriptures:
2 Corinthians 2:11,14-16 AMP | Amplified Bible
11 to keep Satan from taking advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing; 16 to the latter one an aroma from death to death [a fatal, offensive odor], but to the other an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]. And who is adequate and sufficiently qualified for these things? 17 For we are not like many, [acting like merchants] peddling God’s word [shortchanging and adulterating God’s message]; but from pure [uncompromised] motives, as [commissioned and sent] from God, we speak [His message] in Christ in the sight of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV | English Standard Version
21 For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
