"Empowering People to Get From Where They Are to Where They're DESTINED." – Jeremiah 29:11

Finding Hope in Darkness: A Message to the Broken

GOD’S CHOSEN PEOPLE, so many of us are walking around, dead inside. It’s showing up all over some faces. Defeat seems to be pressing down so hard on them that it’s changing the way that they see life and its lack of offerings for them. They’re bogged down with life’s struggles; they cannot rest or hold a conversation about anything other than what they’re currently experiencing.

They have a hard time listening to God, in fact, they’re wondering if God really exists; the question arises in their minds, “where are you, God?” and “why haven’t you fixed my situation yet?” to “is there really a God or am I just talking to myself without someone to respond?” They’re spinning circles, a never-ending continuum of self-doubt, guilt, disdain, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, and they have unstable minds, James 1:8. These people that I’m referencing are around us, daily. They’ve tried to put on a joyful face but inside they’re really broken, crushed and feel hopeless.

THIS MESSAGE today is for those who are in distress and need some answers. I’m writing to those who’ve questioned their purpose, their calling, their mission on this Earth. Those who are suicidal, at death’s door, I want to tell you to STOP. PAUSE. Pray a prayer of forgiveness for thinking that you’ve earned the ability to destroy yourself. Repent unto God for the thought. At the same time, pray that Our God opens up your heart and fills your mind with a breath of peace and tranquility amidst the stormy weather in your life. I want you to fall before God, laying out in front of Him, only. Tell Him exactly how you feel. Expose all of you to Your Maker.

Yes, He knows you and has known you before you were created, but, there’s something about true confession, Jeremiah 1:5.

See, true confession offers relief and strength. True confession opens the door to seeing life in a totally different light. When we say it aloud, we hear ourselves, which opens our mouth and our ears that pour directly into our heart and mind. It’s the “real raw you” that God’s after.

He wants you just as you are: broken, bruised, battered, hopeless, distressed and perplexed. When you confess before God, aloud, you start the journey of allowing God to enter every portion of your life. You allow God space whereas before there was none because it was over casted with denial, guilt, regret, instability and wavering of your faith.

It’s not even that you dismiss God but it’s like you cannot see anything but darkness because that’s all that you’ve allowed yourself to accept. What you feed your mind with thoughts like these, you put a lock on your heart. It becomes hardened before God, Hebrews 3:5. Your ears become clogged. Your eyes have scales so deep that you cannot see as God designed for you to hear, see, feel, and have your being. Instead of speaking life into yourself, you’ve created a barrier between you and God. God’s there but you cannot see or hear Him because these problems have bombarded your ability to feel His Holy Spirit.

How do you overcome this? How do you fight to see God’s Light when you feel surrounded by darkness? How do you pick your head up, hold on, amidst the trials and tribulations you’re in? What will it take to turn your situation around, your outlook?

Cry out to God, just start the conversation, Psalm 120:1. Pause and allow God room to speak. How do you hear Him? Well, since you’ve confessed and you’ve laid prostrate before God, naked and exposed, you’ve now opened your mouth, ears, heart and mind. You’ve unlocked the chamber where your Soul dwells. Just start talking to God. After you’ve shared everything with Him that you could possibly pour out, let God fill you back up again.

In my distress, I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me. Psalm 120:1 KJV

I sought the Lord and he answered me.
    He delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to God will shine;
    their faces are never ashamed. Psalm 34:4-5 CEB

Take your Bible or use an online Bible and start to open the Book of Life. Ask God to give you the location of The Scriptures to read and ask God to give you wisdom, knowledge, and understanding of the texts so that it starts to fill you up with THE LIGHT. Reading The Scriptures will allow you to see God, differently, Proverbs 2:6 & James 1:5-8. Also, reading about God’s work will make you remember the many times that God has rescued you before.

You’ll start to see your past victories.  Travel to the Books of Psalms and Proverbs. Journey through Acts, Romans and Ephesians. Let God lead your heart and mind so that your ears, mouth, and eyes fall before Him in praise and adoration for His lovingkindness and faithfulness towards you, even when you weren’t faithful unto Him, God remained the very same God that He was, loving and compassionate, waiting with His Arms open to embrace you.

If you continue prayer, reading The Scriptures, and praising God, you will be inclined to worship Him. Worshipping God is a more intimate place, sacrament, that allows you to truly reverence God’s sovereignty, His deity, Psalms 29:2. You’ll learn that worship is an act of humble, total submission, bowing unto Him, to appreciate His great being. You’ll feel His embrace. The Holy Spirit will rescue you with a warm and welcoming embrace. The Holy Spirit will comfort you and give you what you need to survive and then thrive while you’re waiting on God to resolve your issues.

Because God is light and you’re doing the actions that showcase His Light, you’ll enter into an atmosphere of perfect peace. A peace that says to yourself, “no matter how long it takes, God, I will trust you, with everything in me.” “God, I know it’s rough for me right now but I believe that You will rescue me, in due time.” “God, your timing is right and your will is what I desire, so waiting for you in expectation of the manifestation of The Word of God in my life, will be a waiting I have with much peace and tranquility.”

God’s WORD brings hope. Your lifelessness will disappear when you start to reach for God, to truly seek Him, because of your desperation but also because of your devotion and diligence unto God.

Waiting for God to move is the most difficult when you have no hope, no zeal, no desire to believe. However, waiting for God, with jubilation and everlasting joy, you learn that the wait is worth it! Waiting on God is worth it! Trusting God despite what you’re facing is pivotal to your life’s success. You shall live and not die, Psalm 118:17! You’ll be able to say that this suffering isn’t worthy to be compared to the joy coming, Romans 8:18. You’ll learn endurance, perseverance, patience, 2 Timothy 2:3-4, Romans 5:3-4.

There’s no way suicide or brokenness can keep you bound because Your GOD, Our GOD, Himself, is coming in like a rushing wind, to rescue you, to keep you safe in His arms, Psalms 91:1,4. Keep asking and keep seeking, Matthew 7:7-8. Keep knocking at God’s door because He will open and answer. He means you good and not evil, Jeremiah 29:11. Rest in His safety, Proverbs 21:31.

I hope that this letter has inspired and encouraged you to hang in there and don’t give up! I hope that you’ve been touched by God’s Holy Spirit, that your Soul has been penetrated to understand that LIFE is your calling, IT IS YOUR PORTION, Psalm 16:5-9.

Be encouraged because your breakthrough is coming to bomb rush you into victory! Stay the course. You shall live and not die, Pastor E. Nelson

The Scriptures are food for our souls (inner man) and nourishment for our outer man.

Today’s Scriptures:

So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

10 I rejoiced greatly in the Lord, that now at last you have renewed your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned about me before, but you had no opportunity to show it. 11 Not that I speak from [any personal] need, for I have learned to be content [and self-sufficient through Christ, satisfied to the point where I am not disturbed or uneasy] regardless of my circumstances. 12 I know how to get along and live humbly [in difficult times], and I also know how to enjoy abundance and live in prosperity. In any and every circumstance I have learned the secret [of facing life], whether well-fed or going hungry, whether having an abundance or being in need.

14 But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us spreads and makes evident everywhere the sweet fragrance of the knowledge of Him. 15 For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which ascends] to God, [discernible both] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing;
